Is composite worth the extra on a long rural run?
In this climate it often is. Composite poles do not absorb water, do not rot at the ground line and are unaffected by frost or termites — the three things that finish hardwood up here. They cost more per pole, but on a run that would otherwise need re-poling twice over the life of the property the numbers frequently stack up. We install both and will price the run either way.
