We have a long span from the pole down to the house. Is that a problem?
Long spans on sloping blocks carry a lot more load than a standard suburban run, particularly with branches falling onto them from above. That extra load is often what pulls a pole over rather than the wind itself. In some cases an intermediate pole or a heavier cable is the right fix rather than simply restoring what was there.
Can a struck pole be repaired, or is it a replacement?
