Leumeah sits in the middle of the Macarthur severe storm corridor, where damaging thunderstorm gusts and hail are a regular part of summer. High Demand Electrical is a Level 2 ASP accredited contractor (Licence 397193C) making storm-damaged private poles safe here, repairing or replacing them, and restoring supply on the Endeavour Energy network.

Storm Damage Power Pole Repair in Leumeah
Once a private pole is leaning, split or down, the service running to your house is loaded the wrong way and the whole installation is at risk — the point of attachment, the cable, and the consumer mains into your meter box. It needs a Level 2 crew, not a general electrician.
We cover Leumeah, Campbelltown, Minto, Bradbury, Ambarvale and Eagle Vale with 24/7 emergency power pole service and on-site fallen pole make-safe.
How Urgent Is Your Storm-Damaged Pole?
Why Leumeah Storms Are Hard on Private Poles
Storms that form over the ranges to the south-west funnel into the Macarthur basin, and Leumeah is in the thick of it. This corridor is known for damaging wind gusts and hail, and a suburban private pole standing in a backyard has very little protection from a downburst that comes across the flat ground west of the suburb at full pace.
Leumeah's housing is mostly 1970s and 80s on solid-sized blocks, which puts the private poles at an age where decay at the ground line is the norm rather than the exception. The pole looks sound from the yard because the damage is entirely below the surface, and it stays sound right up until a gust finds the weakness. Long private spans across wide blocks add tension to the equation, and the extreme summer heat this part of Sydney records dries and splits the timber above ground as well.
Leumeah is on the Endeavour Energy network. Endeavour maintains the numbered street poles and the mains along the road. From your point of attachment inwards — private pole, cross arms, stays, service cable and consumer mains — the responsibility sits with the property owner, and repairs there must be carried out by a Level 2 accredited contractor.
Choose Your Situation — See What We Do
What Happens When Your Leumeah Pole Comes Down
- Stay at least 8 metres from the pole and any wire on the ground, and treat every conductor as live. Report downed or arcing wires to Endeavour Energy on 131 003, then call us.
- We attend and make the site safe — isolating the supply, securing or removing the damaged pole and clearing the hazard.
- We assess the private installation end to end: butt condition below the ground line, cross arms, stays, service cable and the point of attachment on the house.
- We repair or replace as the condition requires, including emergency pole replacement and renewal of any failed hardware, backed by our full power pole repair services.
- We reconnect the supply and handle disconnection, reconnection and network notification to Endeavour Energy in-house.

Storm Damage We Repair Across Leumeah
After a severe cell moves through Leumeah these are the jobs that come in:
- Poles snapped at the butt — decades of ground-line rot, exposed the moment a downburst loads the span.
- Heat-checked and split poles — timber dried out by extreme summer heat and no longer able to carry wind load.
- Cross arm and insulator failures — hail and wind damage to hardware, leaving conductors slack.
- Service cable torn out — points of attachment ripped from fascias, repaired and re-secured properly.
- Limb strikes — mature backyard trees dropping branches onto private spans.
- Poles the network has flagged — defects on private installations that need rectifying and clearing with Endeavour Energy.
Insurance & What’s Usually Covered
What's typically NOT covered: wear-and-tear, gradual rot or rust, or failure caused by a pre-existing defect notice you hadn't rectified. Our written cause report helps insurers distinguish sudden events from gradual failure — and we handle insurance claims every week.
FAQs
Which pole am I responsible for on a Leumeah block?
Any pole on your land that carries the service to your house. Endeavour Energy is responsible for the numbered poles in the street and the mains along the road; the private side begins at your point of attachment. That means the pole, the service cable, the stays, the cross arms and the consumer mains are yours to maintain and repair.
How quickly can you get out to Leumeah?
We run 24/7 emergency call-outs and can usually have a crew on site within a couple of hours. When a severe cell has hit the whole Macarthur area, jobs stack up and it can take longer, so tell us whether wires are on the ground and whether anyone is nearby so we can order the work by risk.

Endeavour Energy has sent me a defect notice about my pole. What happens now?
A defect notice means the network has inspected your private installation and found something that must be fixed within a set period — commonly a decayed or leaning pole, a broken cross arm or damaged service cable. We carry out defect notice rectification and notify Endeavour when the work is done so the notice is closed out properly.
Timber or composite for a replacement pole around here?
Both are acceptable. Timber is cheaper and matches what most Leumeah properties already have. Composite does not rot at the ground line, is not affected by termites, and does not check or split in extreme heat, which is a genuine advantage in this part of Sydney. We will quote both so you can weigh the up-front cost against expected service life.
There is a branch resting on my service wires. Can I clear it myself?
No. Keep at least 8 metres back and do not touch the branch, the tree or anything against them, even if the power seems to be off. A limb on a live conductor can energise the tree. Report it, then call us — we isolate the private service, take the load off safely and repair whatever the branch has damaged.
